Meningitis Trust App
Helping to raise standards of charity fundraising and raising public confidence in charitable giving.
We created the world’s first meningitis symptoms application for the Android Marketplace, just in time for the deadly disease’s peak season.
Working with the Meningitis Trust, the UK's oldest meningitis charity, who see mobile technology as the way forward in reaching millions of people with free lifesaving information.
The free app allows users to learn everything they need to know about meningitis; it tests their knowledge with an interactive quiz, gives instructions for what to do if they suspect meningitis, how to get help and, most importantly, provides users with the symptoms of the horrific disease.
The application, will help save lives through giving millions of Android users easy access to the disease’s symptoms.
Since their formation in 1986, The Mengingitis Trust have distributed over 21 million lifesaving credit card-sized symptoms cards and the accompanying iPhone app has been downloaded over 12,000 times.
Richard Hudson, Digital Media Manager of the Meningitis Trust says; “This is an exciting time for the Trust, as we look for new and innovative ways to reach people with lifesaving information.
“Our website receives over 500,000 visits a year; the majority of these visits are from people who are looking for information on the symptoms of meningitis. We expect a growing demand for information on emerging digital platforms, and if our work saves at least one life we know we have succeeded”.
Sue Davie, Chief Executive of the Meningitis Trust, says; “Knowing the signs and symptoms of meningitis is a key way to reduce the impact of the disease. People often come to us after their experience and thank us for our symptoms cards as they saved their life. We are delighted to announce our latest bid to fight this disease”.
There is also an iPhone version of the app, making this essential information available on the two biggest smartphone platforms.
In the media
"...a useful and potentially vital app – even if it is one you hope you will never need to use. There are few excuses for not downloading it."
